Suse 9.1 Print server trouble with HP Laserjet 4 Plus
This is a quick question for anyone kind enough to help me solve a
little issue I am having with my SUSE 9.1 linux print server and an HP printer. The print server is a Linksys EPSX3 with a static IP address connected to 3 HP printers. Two printers are HP Laserjet 4200 printers set up as LPD raw printer queues (client-side drivers)that work beautifully, but the third is an HP Laserjet 4 Plus printer that does not play well with the linux server at all. As soon as I set the 4 Plus up on the linux box, it makes the whole print server go crazy. Printers shut down randomly, queues jam up, and garbage is outputted on the papers. I looked everywhere online for known issues of this, but have found none. If anyone has any idea of what might be happening, and how I may solve this, I'd be eternally grateful for the assistance. If I need to be more specific, please let me know. Thanks In Advance, Elliot |
