Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Suse 9.1 powersave problem

I have installed the Suse 9.1 Personal on my desktop from the ISO. I like it a lot but there is one interesting problem I am having with it. When I leave it alone for awhile, the powersave daemon turns off my monitor. But after that, my monitor keeps clicking repeatedly, as if its turning back on and then turning off again. It happens frequently but at a random rate. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas about what would be causing it and how I can prevent it? Thanks

I am running an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ with 512MB ram. My monitor is the 17' Dell P780.

Are you sure its the powersave daemon responsible? Can't you turn it off and remove from boot?
