Suse 9.1 LT Winmodem(quick question)

I need a quick answer to this. I understand that the driver for the lt winmodem come with SuSE 9.0 and 9.1. Now I am completely new with winmodems. Will SuSE autmatically recognize it and do I have to do any further configuration to get it to work or is it more or less like installing it in Windowz. I imagine that if SuSE does recognize it they will have the answers in there man pages so I don't need a how-to answer, just would like to know before I install it on my girlfriends computer. Though, if anyone has any tips, I would appreciate it. I will be installing it in about a half an hour. Reason being that if I have to do a lot of this by hand anyways I will be sticking with Mandrake instead of SuSE.
