Suse 9.1 + Firewire-Devices

Hi all,

I have a Problem and I didn't find any answer in several forums.

I use an Gericom Laptop and for CD and DVD buning i use an Plextor 708A internal drive in an external case plugged to my laptop via Firewire.
in this case there is space for a second device. first i used an old Seagate 10GB harddisk.
Because of less space on my HDDs (20 GB + 10) i bought an Samsung 80 GB harddisk and put it instead of my 10 GB HDD in the external case.
Now i have the problem that when the HDD is plugged in the external drive , the DVD-Burner is not found anymore.
when i started using the DVD-Drive and the 10 GB harddisk i used Suse Prof. 9.0, then i bought the 80 GB harddisk and it seemed to be everything o.k. but i don't know if the DVD Device was working. i found the problem when i updated to Suse prof 9.1

does anybody have any clue to solve my problem ? i tried knoppix 3.4 (with the kernel 2.4) to find out if the problem is caused by the new kernel.

thanx a lot for every hint!
