Exclamation SuSE 9.0 Problem with KM400 Graphics Card

Hi,

I have a small problem with SuSE 9.0 and the Video Card built in to the "Asus A7V8X-MX" mainboard. The problem is when it comes to the Display and Video Hardware in YaST, The screen seems to turn into a garbled 320x200 sort of a sized window. Can someone tell me of a driver (that can be downloaded on 56k connection) or how to fix the problem.

The second part is the "3D Hardware Support" (How do I enable this)

Thanks, AFGNCAAP

Suse 9.0 Km400 graphics problem ditto!

Hi,

I have the exact same problem. I have tried everything I can think of inclding text based install. I have a Geforce Nvidia card also, rather than the onboard card and still it fails. I am ready to throw it in the dustbin!

If you have been successful would you let me know?

Good luck and kind regards
David

No Sucess

The only way I can get SuSE 9.0 Professional Edition to work properly is through the use of VMWare 4.0.5 (Downloadable from www.vmware.com) but then I have a problem installing VMWare Tools.

I really do hope someone picks up this thread though... because all the computers in the house have the "S3 ATI 128 KM400" Video Card, and I have heard that it's really crap by most people (which I think is a bit different, but Windows XP Pro is needed to run it ok.)

But try VMWare.
