Suse 9.0 Keyboard Issue


Ive been running Suse 9.0 and ive tried using various keyboard settings but whenever i use Terminal or File Manager if i delete an entire line my keyboard stops typing and i have to close and reopen either home or terminal to start typing in that window again. i apolagize if this has been posted before and i just didnt look hard enough to find a previous help thread on this issue.
