However YAST2 does not recognise my modem.
I'm sorry if i haven't given enough information, i am new to Linux and have tried unsuccessfully to setup my modem in Redhat 9.
If you need more information then let me know.
hi thanks for replying.
I have already tried that tutorial in Redhat 9, unfortunately i was unsuccessfull.
I have already searched google and tried a lot of the methods mentioned, so far i have been unsuccessful.
I have a usb mouse which works fine.
In SUSE i don't really have an error message to show (At least i don't know where to find it :S )
I do have a screenshot of the error in Redhat if that would be any use?
I have the same problem, running Mandrake 9.1 or 9.2. Some say its the Realtec nic. I've tried to get on the internet using a Speedtouch 330 modem after fysically removing the NIC. That worked fine. Also without an installed NIC it worked. The last thing I've red is the use of an DHCP client. I'm studying on that. ASAP I know more, I'll be back.
But it is very quiet in this corner.
Yesterday I was able to link to internet under Linux with the speedtouch330 modem. I switched to RedHat 9, used the discription of Peter Schram. No errors, no connection. Yesterday I found the speedtouchconf script on Sourceforge.net. This script was a succes.
