Me too i'd like to know if someone got it to work and how.
So far i haven't been able to get mine to work with either SUSE 8.2 or Redhat 9.

Automatic Install Speedtouch330

hi both of you,
get the following file from sourceforge and follow the readme.txt instructions.
In the script speedtouchconf.sh comment out the following lines:
check_err $res "Software Build"
echo "QUITTING FOR DEMO"
exit 0
so that they look like this:
#check_err $res "Software Build"
# echo "QUITTING FOR DEMO"
# exit 0
This method works for Suse 8.1 and Redhat
You will need to get the DNS IP address of your ISP to write the resolv.conf file .....
best of luck

didnt work :s ill give you error message
Quote:
The modem_run command failed (code 255)- check your kernel config
This *may* not be a problem if you've already loaded the microcode
(for example, if you ran this script earlier without powering off
the modem).
i did reboot and try again, same message.

*edit
nitr8 you git :P lol
if you get it working tell me

*edit
well i realised that i didnt comment out the lines which you said to first of all, so i tried again but couldnt find the lines which you said i could only find
check_err $res "Software Build"
which i commented and tried running script but got same error.

flump i tried it in Redhat without making changes to the script.
I just followed the website's instructions.
I haven't tried it in SUSE yet.
That's the crucial one since i'll be using that rather than Redhat.

well i did try another tutorial before trying this as i didnt think anyone would reply, that may have complicated things.

firstly i didnt change anything from the script and it didnt work, but if you get it working i may as well re-install

I also did another tutorial before this and i didn't bother doing a fresh install. Worked fine for me.

I think i know your problem:
Do you have the microcode?
If not then let me know and i'll email it to you.
If you do then did you extract it to the same directory as the script?
If not then do so.
Lemme know how it goes.

Edit: Remember i got it working in Redhat 9 i haven't tried SUSE 8.2 yet. I'll probably try that this weekend.
