Suse 64 bit can not see my hard drive parettions


i just upgrade to AMD 64 bit CPU but i face a problem now after i install windows on drive C i wanted to install Suse 64 bit on another partitions but the problem when i start installing Suse 10.0 64 bit in the partitioning part it see my drive is empty and there is not windows partitions , i did not go on installing it because i do not want lose all data on my hard drive , any one know how i can make Suse see my other partitions ?

I think that you need to check the windows partition for errors before you proceed.

After repairing the filesystem, assuming that you installed windows on /dev/hda1. You should delete the partitions after it (where you want to install SuSE) and let the SuSE installation create the latter partitions. You can do this in Windows if you want to. If windows is on an NTFS filesystem, the SuSE installation will be able to resize it if it covers the entire disk.

There is a selection to install Linux on the entire drive. You don't want to use this option, however, I mentioned it because maybe this option is what you saw and were confused. Something to try is to go into the expert formatting option. The SuSE partitioner has a graphical representation of what the drive looks like. Maybe the windows partition shows up there.
