I just installed SUSE 9.3 professional and I have a ATI Radeon 9800 pro. I have installed the latest drivers from ATIs site and ran fglrxconfig.... I still dont have 3d acceleration however and when I go into YaST to configure the card it says 3D acceleration unavailable.

SaX tells me "3D acceleration impossible: The installed card cannot use hardware 3d/OpenGL acceleration"

Any comments?! The card is not broken or anything, I just had it working in Windows *shudder* yesterday.... Thanks!

In my experiances with ati to get acceleration one must install the driver with x off.I do /etc/init.d/gdm stop before I install as root.

typing "3Ddiag --dri" on your konsole. It gives you some hints of what to change in your /etc/X11/XF86Config in order to get 3D running.
Are you useing xfree or xorg?
