SuSE 10 / NVidia Sound conflict

Hi All,

I have an ASUS A7N8X-E mobo with the on-board NVidia sound drivers. Cannot get the sound to work. Have tried all of the different modules without any luck. Seems like many have had this problem. Is the solution to disable it and get something else?

Also, seems like the DVD modules cannot initialize due to the soundcard problem; is that correct?

Thanks!

I have a similar motherboard Asus K8N but it doesn't use the Nvidia chipset. Nonetheless I would suggest using the suse watcher to update to the news kernel, I had a problematic sb live card and the kernel update did the work for me.

I hope this helps you out

Happy New Year!!
