SUSE 10 finds AC '97 internal modem but cannot configure

Hi,

SUSE 10 identifies internal modem AC '97 (Acer Incorporated, I think) in my Acer Aspire 1620 (laptop), but I don't know how to configure it. It doesn't by default, so I have to adjuct the port, etc. But, /dev/modem doesn't work, and I don't know what to do, or what tools to use. Thank you

AC 97 is the generic modem for all computers. Not an Acer modem.
And, what you do about it is basically ignore it. It's not likely to work, ever, since it's in a laptop and a member or 5000 other modems with the same name. There is a kernel driver that's experimental if you feel like re-compiling everything from scratch...
