SUSE 10.0 cdrom and dvdrecorder automatical mounting problem

I have SuSE 10.0 fresh-installed in my system. I have a RAID with three physical hard disks, a cdrom and a dvdrecorder.

The first times I used the system both cdrom and dvdrecorder mounted and worked with no problems after a cd or a dvd was loaded. But suddenly I realised that they left up doing it. And then I checked the fstab and it was:

/dev/hde2 / reiserfs acl,user_xattr 1 1
/dev/hde5 /data0 reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hdc1 /data1 reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hdd1 /data2 reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/hde1 swap swap defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
/dev/cdrom /media/ subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/dvdrecorder /media/dvdrecorder subfs noauto,fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs noauto,fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0

As you can see, /dev/cdrom is mounted at /media, and not in /media/cdrom. Well, no matter whether you change the line or not, the automatic mounting of these drives won't work again after reboot. (After changing fstab of course I deleted lock file and checked again if the change in fstab was eventually done)

Then I went to YaST, Hardware, CD-ROM drives. As soon as I pressed the button 'CD-ROM drives', the drives were detected and mounted automatically, even if I didn't do any changes, but this is not permanent and if I reboot the problem persists.

Well, in 'YaST, Hardware, CD-ROM drives' the first extrange thing is that the system detects one cdrom and two identical dvdrecorder drives. If I push 'Add', the dvdrecorder will show LINK: /dev/dvdrecorder and MOUNT POINT: /media/dvdrecorder, but the cdrom will show LINK: /dev and MOUNT POINT: /media.

So, the only way I have to mount automatically my drives is going to 'YaST, Hardware, CD-ROM drives' one time after reboot, but this is really annoying.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Well, I've fixed the problem.

Although in Suse 9.3 my system worked correctly, now it seems that new SuSE 10.0 kernel and my hardware had to solve their problems!

I changed the connections of my hard disks, cdrom and dvdrecorder drives among them and to the motherboard and I finally found the right combination. Maybe it is also my dvdrecorder Philips DVD1640P fault.

So it has hardware fault, not SuSE!!!

P.D.: Usb slow speeds are anyway very very annoying in SuSE 10.0. Please developers, help to solve that!!!
