Strange printer problem

I'm not desparate for a solution, just curious whether anyone else has seen anything like it.

I've just had to reinstall my Samsung printer on my CentOS machine, after a hard disk disaster. SELinux does not like it. Normally I just disable SEL before printing, but this time I found which file was giving trouble (rastertosamsungplc) and altered its SEL status to bin_t. The printer worked, but the page I printed was badly done and as two small images, side by side! So, I'm back to "setenforce 0".

You can print 2, or 4 up with most printing programs. Is that option set?

The point is that the output is completely different depending on whether SEL is enforcing or not, without any change in program configuration. As I said, I'm not asking for a solution (it's no problem to turn off SEL), but trying to understand what's going on: always an adventure with SEL! And if you don't have it, you're unlikely to know anything about it.
