startx shuts off my monitor
The subject pretty much sums it up. Running a fresh install of slackware 10.0, I was tinkering around on the command line, and when I typed startx my monitor shut itself off, like if I had powered down my computer but not the monitor. When I rebooted (by hitting the reset button) the resolution on my command prompt had changed.
Weird. |
If you don't shutdown properly i've seen that sometimes it doesn't save things properly. About the screen, i dunno much about slackware so i cant help you, post the log if you have it.

too big refresh rate? or resolution configured in the
xf86config? it can kill your monitor also |
Yeah, i think something in the xf86conf changed...
Ive had similar problems with a monitor and it also was the resolution which caused it |
I got it working!
1. ran xorgconfig 2. installled nvidia driver 3. edited xorg.conf And now it works, so I am happy. |
