SSD Drive locked in hdparm won't unlock

I tried to secure erase my Samsung Evo 850 msata drive on my ThinkPad x220 with

hdparm --user-master u --security-set-pass PASS /dev/sda

time hdparm --user-master u --security-erase PASS /dev/sda

After reboot, I was locked out with a password, but the one I typed does not work. I read a lot of people trying to remove it with hdparam again but the problem is that i get the pass lock even before BIOS and i can't boot the system if the drive is inside. I tried to hotplug the msata drive after the BIOS both in windows and linux.

On windows I see the SSD in disk manager but it gives I\O error. But in linux it doesn't show in fdisk list. Tried rmmod ahci and then modprobe ahci but no result

Any advice on what to do to save the drive?

Why did you do that? Why did you do it that way?

What are you trying to do, really?

May be of some help.

I assume this to be true. " Performing a secure erase will reset the user password"
