Question SSC (Spread Spectrum Clocking) support for Linux with software RAID?

I am considering buying a couple Seagate drives to build a RAID 1 array. These drives come with SSC turned on, and unfortunately this setting can only be changed using a Windows program. I have read a couple comments from Mac users saying they had to return the drives because the Mac didn't support SSC. Does anyone know if this will be a problem, or can anyone confirm they've got a working setup with SSC turned on? Thanks!

According to Seagate's website the SSC utiltiy is a DOS program and that it can not be run from windows. You need a DOS boot floppy or CD. Check the website for more info.

Thanks, it's good to know I can run the utility from DOS. But I was wondering, do I need to turn off SSC in order to run Linux? Or can I just leave it on and set up my RAID array with SSC enabled?

I am not familar with SSC but from what I can tell it is supposed to reduce electronic emissions on multidrive systems and appears like it is OS independent. According to the Seagate's not all hosts support SSC.
