Sox equalizer and subwoofer

Hi to all sox users.
I was working with sox lately to normalize and enhance my audio tracks. The bass and treble effects are fine to work with as well as reverb.

Everyday amarok runs in the background and most tracks gives a powerfull sound (I do not have proper words for description) with a megabass equalizer (one I searched and tested with that match my psp & sonyericsson megabass equalizer).
But when I wanted to do it with play(sox) I could not find the secret formula when at last it needs to have a command line as such :-
play track.ogg bass +0.72 185 50h ....
other treble and bass effects vary according to tracks.

I do not understand if `bass +0.72 185 50h` induces a better sound or its the resonating frequency of my subwoofer that gives that effect.

I would like some help for further investigation.
