Angry Sounddriver Kernel Mismatch

Hi folks,

i have a greate problm with my sound card. It's a VIA '97 AC audio codec and i already downloaded the fitting driver for this. The only problem is that everytime i want to install the rpm package the system says that there is a kerne mismatch. The rpm-package needs 2.4.20-4GB and i'm using 2.4.20-4GB-athlon.
Afterwards i tried to force the installation by using insmod -f but still teh same.
Is ther anybody out there who can tell me to resolve this problem without recompiling the whole kernel?
Probably it's possible to rename the kernelversion in the rpm-package.

Thanks in advance

Ruediger

except that it wants an intel processor and you have athlon installed. Is there no way for you to download the source and then recompile it on your system?
