Soundcard recommendation?

Hey, I am looking to buy a new soundcard and I need some suggestions of what to get?

I have quite a low budget, but performance is also important. I don't need a billion different outputs and inputs however. The card is mainly going to be used for gaming, and needs to be well supported inside Linux - and not suffer from the sound lag that my old one did (SB Audigy LS).

I am sort of limited as to what I can find in the UK, so a link to and online shop here with the product would be helpful.

I am on a budget of £40 (GBP)

i found an audigy ZS for about £40 off of Ebay, no problems (cept wrong windows drivers came with it) it works brillianty in Linux and windows. that'd be a good starting point. I'd stick to retail if you can, OEM ones manufactured by others cause problems with proper modules.

I used to have a soundblaster live that came with a dell machine, the normal driver wouldn;t work, took a year for it to get done :S
