Question soundcard in mandrake


hi
i have installed mandrake 9.0 i have a creative soundblaster pci128 card it detects my soundcard but when installing it says that the module its looking for is either not ther oor corrupt. i have used draksound to install it
i have faced a similar problem in mandrake 8.1 but couldnt correct it

This card uses the es1370 module.

First see if the module is loaded and being used:

lsmod

If not try to load the module sa root with:

/usr/sbin/modprobe es1370

Also make sure you have the correct permissions for the /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer

To make sure, change the permissions with this command as root:

chmod 666 /dev/dsp* /dev/mixer*
