OK, I've searched this site and I've done everything but ask hackers to log on to my machine and do everything for me. And that's because, Surprise, I have a modem that isn't supported except in red hat 7.1. And that's because dell provided it for their servers and I can't afford DSL. That's the background. The problem is I'm a Intermediate newbie. I can log in and I sorta understand how to use a command line. What I'm asking for is a Step by step point A to point B explanation on how to install the soundblaster live 5.1 card. I have the emuk101 drivers, I would be forever grateful to anyone that can help me. I can sorta handle not being able to connect to the net, But not being able to hear anything is too much. Please, I really, REALLY don't want to have to go back to windows unless I'm absolutely forced to. I love linux. Thank you.
