Yes ALSA modules not drivers are very good. Also look for the script on ALSA site on how to do interesting stuff. I'm sorry I don't have the script though I do have the same model that you have. I do not have it in my systems because it gives both my AMD and INTEL problems such as jerky video capture. Other sound card brands does not give me jerky video capture.
