Extigy's work fine under Linux with the generic USB audio driver, however I suggest going for a Live! or Audigy if you want to make use of all the cool features the soundcard has to offer. The current extigy support for extra features like multiple outputs, digital out, etc are not as good as they could be.

ive already bought it and have tried a few different drivers (exaudio.o and alsa) but i havent tried just the generic usb (exaudio allows only allows the front speaker jack to work and i havent gotten alsa to work) is there anything special i need for the generic usb driver to work? ill try it later tonight but i usually have it compiled in and i havent seen it to work really
