sound works but I cannot here it
I did everything from the danielk ( http://attila.stevens-tech.edu/~dkopko/a7n8x.txt) manual and everything seems to work fine. I am playing a wav in xmms and it seems to be playing but I cannot hear anything, I tried every hole in the motherboard and 2 sets of speakers. I am totally lost, anyone have a similar problem and know how to fix it? I am running RedHat 8.0 with kernel 2.4.21-pre3-ac4 and the ASUS a7n8x deluxe motherboard with the onboard stuff.

Have you tried turning up the sound ? Or made sure it wasn't on mute ?
Try bringing up gmix or kmix and see what the actual volume is set at ?

Where is the sound being directed to in XMMS. Is it /dev/dsp or something.

Hi there..
Had the same problem, you must disable your onboard soundcard on with the jumper setting.. It won't work with the bios settings...
Had the same problem in RH.. It found both of the soundcards, but I didn't get any sound....
But as soon as you disable on of the cards it should work.
