Sound volume BECAME low

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 with OpenSUSE 11 and it all worked great until yesterday when the volume became very low. I checked the mixer and all bars were on high. I tried restarting X and then the whole OS and still nothing. Any idea on what I sould try?

PS: I'm new to linux so pleas explain things as much as possible

Did you plug speakers or handphones lately? Check your mixer again and your laptop button for the volume if you have one.

For some weird reason it seems that after using Fn+PgUp to increase volume the problem disappeared. The mixer is stil maxed out.
