sound question

error message:

Unable to open audio device '/dev/mixer'.
Please check that you have permissions to open '/dev/mixer' and that you have sound support in your kernel.

i recently put this hard drive temporarily in a different comp so red hat must have unconfigured my sound card. does this message imply that I need to re-install the driver? any other suggestions?

No Problem. I had just assumed that you were running KDE or GNOME. I will keep in mind that this is not always the case. Glad it is working.

NOTE: If you are looking for any of the utilities,
ls /usr/bin/redhat*
and it lists them all.

RO.
