Question sound problems

The driver for my soundcard is the es1371.

I run modprobe es1371 end then lsmod

end it gives:

ntfs 50784 1
agpgart 34720 0 (unused)
es1371 31912 0
gameport 1276 0 [es1371]
ac97_codec 9992 0 [es1371]
cmpci 33396 0
soundcore 3364 8 [es1371 cmpci]
8139too 17096 1
mii 2112 0 [8139too]

how can I set es1371 as 1 and not 0?

The sound not works on KDE

I have a Knoppix-debian 3.2 installed on hd

I've tried the sndconfig utillity, but it points to my onboard sound (CMxxxx), and don play any sample, then says that an error occurred and it's not possible to write.

I've tried to the sndconfig --noprobe and select es1371, but still the error message.

somebody please could help me?

Did you disable the on-board sound card in the BIOS?

Check out a post about 1/2 way down the following page page by hammerstein02:

It seemed to work for me, switching over to device 1 instead of the defaulted 0.

good luck,
