winston LQ Newbie Registered: Feb 2003 Distribution: Linux Mandrake 9.0 Posts: 1 Rep:	Sound problem with Cmedia 8738 and sis 7012 chipset Hi I have a integrated C-media 8738 sound card and audio chipset (or whatever) is SiS 7012. I had installed Mandrake 9.0 earlier and it had worked some how. But now after reinstalling it the sound doesnt work. In mandrake control center the sound card was listed and it loaded the Alsa driver too. But I am not able to hear the sound. I ran "sndconfig" but it says the sound card is not supported. How is that possible? Is the sound volume very low? Please help Robin
