sound problem...

Hi all,

i reakky would like my sound card to work. It's a Sis7012PCI.
I've re-created the kernel for it. ANd it seems to reconize and start correct....

Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 0.9.0rc7 (Sat Feb 15 15:01:21 2003 UTC).
intel8x0: clocking to 48000
ALSA device list:
#0: SiS SI7012 at 0xe000, irq 5

But if i send an audio file to the device with

cat audiosample > /dev/dsp

nothing happen.

Every idea or suggestion is very appreciated.
Many THX B7

Have you unmuted the channels? (this includes the headphone channel).
