Sound Problem
Ok, at first I just thought it was the MPEG player that was skipping. Turns out that my ZSNES emulator also skips and pops when it plays sound......after a while. So I tried a few other programs. TuxRacer does the same thing, pops and cracks after a while. It takes it a few minutes then it begins to pop and crack, all of them.
What would cause my sound card to do this?
And better yet, is it fixable?

First, try to give your threads more descriptive names.
Second, can you give more details like the soundcard you're using or anything else you think could be important?

ESS Solo 1 is my Sound card
As far as the description of my thread, I'm having trouble describing it, my sound pops and cracks as it plays, I haven't the foggiest clue as to why though. And it doesn't seem to matter what program it is either.

From what I can tell, it looks like your soundcard is supported by alsa, and redhat says its compatible. I would try to reinstall the rpm for it and see if that works or try alsa. If its not a software problem it might be time for a new soundcard.

Maybe you just blew the speakers....or the card craped out. I really doubt its a problem with the drivers.

Sorry dude, my sound works perfect in Win98, and in a few applications in Linux.
