Unhappy sound module disabeld

hello,

I'm totaly new to linux, and after installing RH 8 i've got my first problem. I use a Asus P4B mobo with onboard sound. But i've got no sound (under win. XP it works fine) if i do the test in RH 8, a screen appears with the vendor name and everything, it also says "sound module disabeld" I've tried a lot, nothing seems to work, is there a way to "enable" the module?
(and i've used the search) help me

Well if you provide what kind of sound card it is might help us but usually if the module is prebuilt into the kernel with support.. you can use the modprobe command to insert modules.

modprobe name of module to insert

man modprobe for more details.

other command that might be useful:

lsmod
insmod
