sound driver needed
hello out there...
this is my first thread here on this platform, so let me first say hello to everybody! I have a big problem. I'm running a fedora on my amd xp and a m audio 1814 fw sound card. I've been searching for days, but I could not find any driver for linux distro's. You can only download drivers for windows and mac on the official m-audio homepage. help? thank you |
It does not appear to be supported.. take a look at the Linux firewire project compataiblity list

unfortunately my m-audio fw 1814 is not in the list. could somebody tell me whats the best audio interface or sound card for multitrack recording purpose with a good working driver for linux distributions such as demudi or fedora. best regards izp |
My best suggestion would be to look at the requirements for something Like ardour...

I've got an M-Audio Delta 1010lt (8 analog + 2 digital in and out) it works great in linux with ardour it is a pci card with breakout cable
|
I've had a delta 44 (4in + 4out), it came also as a breakout box with a pci card, but I decided to choose a firewire card, because for my purposes it is more handy than a mounted pci card. Now I am thinking of buying a presonus firepod - unfortunately I could not find anything like a linux driver or linux support with this card.
anyone some suggestions? greetz |
