Sound driver detected, but no sound

i recently install mandrake 10.0 on my parents system, i am also new to linux. It chose a sound driver, and lists three more. I have tried using all four of them, and still no sound.

Everything is hooked up correctly, and i have been trying to get it to work, but it is apparent i need some suggestions.

Mandrake 10.0 is quite old. It has some problem with some usb flash drives (The transfer speed is very slow or even mounted at all) Why don't you try newer distros?

However, What sound card did you use?
