If that part works for you, and the screen is normal. THen it's ok. I'd check the following as well, this is normally an indication it really works namely: direct rendering.

In the shell type:
Code:
glxinfo | grep direct
There should be a YES.

Also just do glxinfo and see what driver it's using.

Something like this:

Code:
OpenGL version string: 2.1.1 NVIDIA 100.14.09

Btw , how is your sound?

I could not get opensuse to work with the onboard sound card on my motherboard.
So I bought a sound card from Microcenter for 15 bucks. I re-installed opensuse (this may not be necessary, but I was having sooo many problems) and now my sound works perfectly.

Now I did get the onboard video to work, but not the new graphics card I bought.

By the way, puntjuh...
I tried the commands you mentioned and got exactly the results you mentioned.
I tried the Nvidia 7300LE video card again and it still fails.
The Onboard video is much better than before, however. So I have just a little more energy to get the 7300 card working. If you have any more suggestions (or anyone else?) I'd sure appreciate it.

I'm really liking OpenSuse, too.
