I have searched through the threads but didnt find anything unique to my problem. I have Mandriva One loaded on my Dell XPS M140 and it worked fine on first install. Now that I have installed many more programs and rebooted the sound does not work. I get the following error Error while initializing the sound driver:

I have booted the Mandriva One disk because its a live cd version and I have sound. The driver is the same as the live distro and it works but when I boot from the HD I have no sound.

Any ideas.

The error didn't post. Could you post it again please? What does lsmod say after you reboot? Could we see the output from lspci -v?

It looks as if everything is loaded. Have you tried running a mixer after reboot?
