Question sound card onboard


I have 2.2.19 Kernel and a DFI CS32-TC motherboard with sound on board! do you have any ideea how could I hear any sounds in my speakers???

Looking up the board on dfi.com told me that it runs the "ac '97 codec" under soundcard... my that's worthless, now I know what codec it uses... yippee, what about the actual card... lazy motherboard manufacturers... grumble grumble.

/sbin/lspci -v

will list the PCI devices, past back here what info it gives about the sound card.
