Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Sound card Encore ENM232-8VIA (chipset VT1723)

I am looking for a sound card and some shops offer me an Encore ENM232-8VIA, but they can not tell me if is Linux compatible.
This card has a VIA VT1723 chipset, according to some web searches i performed.

¿Someone could tell me if this card works ok? (I am using Kubuntu 8.04, but this isn't important, right?)

PS: I promise to post in HCL if i buy it.

Re: Sound card Encore ENM232-8VIA (chipset VT1723)

I was looking for the same thing, and found these posts:

http://www.desktopbsd.net/forums/vie...hp?f=4&p=11826

From the last one, it looks like the ice1724 driver for the Envy24HT will work for the VT1723 (aka Envy24 Tremor).
