Sound Blaster remote, emu10k1, fedora 4

Hello, I am trying to get my IR remote (rm-900b) to work in fedora core 4. It is on a sound blaster audigy platinum ex sound card. I am running the emu10k1 drivers. I tried adding these lines to the modules.conf file but without success:

post-install snd-emu10k1
echo -e '\360\000\040\041\141\000\000\000\177\000\367' > dev/snd/midiC0D1

Thanks for any help.
