sound blaster live 24bit 7.1 on mandrake 10.1

I only have 2 speakers working but am sure it's not the sub or the speakers it self as it works in ST mode. But if i have it connected as three seperate channels only 2 front speakers work why?

Is there some sort of 5.1 driver i have to install. In windows I had to set it to use 5.1

am running 1.0.8 alsa drivers
