Sound Blaster 128 problem
Hey,
Hey, I'm a new member to this wonderful forum. I installed Mandrake Linux successfully with one flaw.
You see, everything on my system works. Internet, games, TV Tuner, the works. It's just that my Sound Blaster 128 card doesn't work. I've checked a few things, and it still doesn't work. Can anyone give me any tips to do this.
Also, the wine emulation system doesn't work. Should I put a c/windows/system/ directory on the drive to make it work? I want to run a couple Windows programs on my computer, and I need this to work. Any tips?
Please cooperate with me, as I'm still a little foggy on the system. I'd greatly appreciate this help. I have to play ClanBomber with sound! MWAHAHA! Blood!

As root, did you try chmod 666 /dev/dsp ?
I thought I had a sound problem when I installed Slackware but I asked around and tried that and it worked fine.
Also, you need to add support for your sound card if you didn't. I'm not sure what the module for your card is, but if you use the Search feature I'm sure you could find it.

Search
Hey,
Tried a couple of things (including the things you suggested), but still nothing. And what do you mean by Search? Should there be a menu of some sort I should find? I'm still a little, how do you say, Windows oriented, so bare with me.
If it helps, I use the KDE system.
Also, any tips on using WINE?
