Sony wireless PCWA C150-s & linux


I have a sony wireless pcmcia PCwa C150.... how can i get it to work in mandrake linux 10??? pelase help!! i am new to linux and this is the only thing not working.

Its probably not a chipset that is supported by the default Mandrake kernel. Don't worry though, there's 3rd party drivers for everything these days... and when those fail, there's ndiswrapper. Prepare to get your hands dirty though.

Okay, according to the list of all that is holy:

http://www.linux-wlan.org/docs/wlan_adapters.html.gz

This is an Orinoco card!?!?!

Wacky!

If this is true you have the most uber-supported card out there...

Open up a Konsole, Eterm, xterm, whatever, and become root:

su -

Then type the following command:

/sbin/cardctl ident

And post back with what you've got.

Yeah, Orinoco card... it should have loaded the orinoco_cs module Is there a listing of "orinoco_cs", "orinoco", and "hermes" from the command:

/sbin/lsmod
