Sony LCD - too much virtual resolution

Hi Just bought a Sony SDM-HS73/---LCD and hooked it up to the SuSe 8.2.
Looks great, and works fine, but the computer thinks I bought a bigger screen. Way too far left and I have tried everything to fix it. From Virtual REs to screen size. All my setting appear to be correct.

Any help for a really green Linux user, most of y'all have problems w/LCDs, but I have not heard this one yet.

Thanks.

sounds like a problem in XF86Config or xorg.conf (depending which you're using). I'm assuming SUSE has some yast-ish way of editting those, but you should tell it to use the resolution that is native to your screen.
