Sony DVD R/W problem (DRU-510 AK)

Hi,

I know for sure that my DVD drive works (I have a burned CD as proof!) but for some reason it isn't showing up any more on "cdrecord -scanbus". Instead theres a Toshiba drive listed on 0,0,0.

I got the same output when I was first trying to get it working, but with a bit of fiddling it appeared quite happily on bus # 1. Thing is I can't remember what I did to get it going...

Anybody know the magic I have forgotten?

Its probably worth mentioning that I haven't changed or upgraded the system in any way so i'm pretty sure its some module or something i'm missing.
