Sony DSC-P73 and Mandrake 10

Howdy gang.

I just upgraded digicams, and, lo and behold! My brand new Sony is unrecognized by Mandrake. Sony has nothing on their site about it, of course...under XP, it's found as a Sony MemoryStick. Any clue how I can get it to recognize under Mandrake? Thanks a bunch!

I noticed that the P72 is documented to work with gphoto, in PTP mode. I'm willing to bet that the P73 should work just the same.

Also noteworthy, I recently bought a P41 for my wife, and it is not currently listed as supported by gphoto, though I've found it to work perfectly (libgphoto2 seems to ID it as a F707V for whatever reason).

For ease of use, try GTKam for a friendly interface once gphoto is working.

good luck.

ok, if i set the digicam as PTP, it seems that it's fine using the P72 profile...but I'm a total noob as far as packages go. do i need to download anything beyond GTKam?
