Sony DRU-530A dvd burner - No Sound ?????
Hello, I have a Sony DRU-530A and when I try to play a CD there is no sound. My speakers work because I can get sound from everything else but this. I am running Mandrake Linux 10.0
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you probably didn't hook up an analog cable between your sound card and burner for audio cd's.

it's a little cable that goes from the back of your drive to your sound card. you've probably seen the places to hook up those cables on your sound card.
without the cable, you need an app that can do cd digital audio from the regular data cable. windows can do it. i saw a post a while back about xmms doing it, but i don't know anything else about it.
