Sony DRU-510AK
I suppose I should have heeded the "For Windows" logo on the box, but I can't seem to get this one to work...
Can access CDs, but when using dvdrecord with -dev=0,0,0: I get "Sorry no CD/DVD-Drive found on this target.". cdrecord -scanbus gives: Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 Jrg Schilling Using libscg version 'schily-0.5' scsibus0: 0,0,0 0) 'TOSHIBA ' 'MK2003GAH ' 'AM.0' Disk 0,1,0 1) * 0,2,0 2) * 0,3,0 3) * 0,4,0 4) * 0,5,0 5) * 0,6,0 6) * 0,7,0 7) * So what gives? I have also tried inserting the "ide-cd" module, but this doesn't help... Is there something cool I can do to make it work, or is it back to the shop? Cheers, M |
Having the same problem, although I never thought it would have something to do with the actual drive being compatible with windows. Help is appreciated

Hehe - try "modprobe ide-scsi", seems to have done the trick for me!
