Someone must know this

I have a mobo with an AMD am29f 4mb flash disk on it which normally houses software to run it as a thin client (It was once a Boundless Viewpoint TC100).

I have removed the original stuff and put on Freesco distro loading with loadlin from DOS.

Whe I try and boot from the flash disk, it gets loads the ram image but hangs when mounting the boot device.

I've tried /dev/hda1 ... etc but it's not any of the hd's.

Can anyone help me with the enumeration and driver for this disk?

TIA

What's the model number of the motherboard?

There should be something in the kernel about CFI.

CONFIG_MTD_CFI

I believe.

I can't easily identify the hardware components.

The mobo has a symbol something like:

(Jc) MV0
{4 digit number}
4207

and a model number

568-0011568 REV A

If it's any help, I can get to a shell after the ramdisk image loads, but I've CAT'd everything in /proc and nothing looks like the flash disk.

If that's a model number, I'm stumped. There is no model on the motherboard itself? A lot of times they are in white letters near the PCI slots. When you said {4 digit number} did you mean 4207, or did you leave out the number? Any scraps of information you can dredge up... Hell, if you can find the FCC code on there, I can do a lookup via that. We'll see what we can do for ya.

I left out the 4 digits; the number's on the bottom of the mobo and I have to take the PSU apart to get it out.

I thought I might have more luck backtracing the hardware through manufacturers. The box is a v.low profile case, no fdd with 1xPCI, 1xEISA slot which have short risers to mount the cards horizontally. The modal I have has the EISA riser and a HDD chassis where the PCI card whould go.

This hardware is used for:
Boundless Technology Viewpoint TC100 thin client terminal
Equisys v1 Netpilot (Also rebadged as Netstar SBE by Star.net.uk)

I'm sure somene else has seen one!
