Solved! "failed connection bad password".

I am running Ubuntu 10.4 on an older Dell Inspiron 1300. Ubuntu works well at recognising a wired connection, but after repeatedly encountering "failed connection bad password" with my wireless, I came across a threads suggesting installing wicd and doing a thorough purge of network manager. After installing the windows drivers for my broadcom wireless card with ndiswrapper, I was able to connect to my router but could not browse the Internet. In the wireless connection properties window I unchecked the ip static box, and changed my security key setting from passphrase to pre-shared key and ka-zaam! everything is working fine! Hope this help someone!
