Im a complet to linux and I'm using a linmodem, I have the drivers and everything but when I try to install everything goes fine untill the end when it tells me that it cant find a Softk56 PCI card and thats when it throws me. Im using SuSE 8.2 (lost of beople have said its the best for nebies like me) and any help would be great.
SuSE 8.2 uses a 2.2 version kernel, and the Linuxant drivers require 2.4 or 2.6 version kernels. Here is a quote from the Linuxant web site

The drivers should work on most current Linux distributions, with the 2.4 or 2.6 kernels. A Pentium processor with the MMX enhancements is required. Some systems may require kernel recompilation with special ACPI patches.
You may have to upgrade SuSE to 9 or upgrade the kernel.
